Mukwaya Pius Kabanda, a student in Bionics Engineering, shares his transformative internship experience at Ethos.
Opting to intern with Ethos has proven to be one of the best decisions of my professional and personal journey. Fresh out of university, where my mind was filled only with engineering and classwork concepts, I was motivated to join Ethos to find a workplace that could balance real-world experience with academic knowledge. Ethos provided me with a practical, real-world education that went beyond the classroom.

Under the guidance of my supervisor, Madam Peace, I understood the importance of clear communication in the professional world, as this was crucial in all the tasks assigned to me. Beyond that, I acquired a skill often underestimated yet essential – time management. Juggling deadlines while maintaining a balance between various life tasks and other obligations became something I excelled at.
Being a part of Ethos instilled in me the value of being a reliable person, a quality crucial in achieving results across various responsibilities. Since every day had different tasks, this dynamic environment continually challenged me to become a problem-solving individual. This meant that I had an opportunity to learn or improve my skills gradually. Although this was initially challenging, it later proved to be the perfect motivation for my personal and professional growth.
My time at Ethos exposed me to diverse concepts, from IT proficiency to event management and teamwork. The persistent encouragement from my supervisor to nurture creativity meant a continuous learning process for me. Today, these experiences continue to play a crucial part in my life and career. The IT skills I acquired perfectly fit into my engineering pursuits for robots, artificial intelligence (machine learning), and other related technologies. Communication, time management, reliability, and teamwork are now integral parts of my daily life as I navigate the ongoing journey of securing my future. Ethos not only shaped my skills but also changed the way I think, leaving a lasting impact on my career journey.
